I don't think home-built is the right word. More like built by a bunch of undergraduate engineers for the Baja SAE competition. Anyway, the team managed to finagle free test time from a local MX course and let's just say that that heavy beast managed to catch some major air. It had enough power to crest jumps but too much weight to fly over them, so we all ended up crashing down onto every other jump. There may or may not have been opposite lock. Beer was consumed. Plus I think my spine has disintegrated.

We're pretty confident that we'll work out all the kinks come race day.

From a Formula guy to a Baja person: All SAE is totally fucking oppo. Rock on.

And, like I said in my Formula days (not sure how it works in a Baja car): If in doubt, do a burnout.

That's actually how the car ended up breaking... One of the guys tried to do a donut on his hotlap and it was just hard enough on the suspension to break one of the rear links and a spring as well as dislodging the axle.
